Last night’s episode of The Thick Of It,eh? Bloody hell! Who could have possibly seen that coming?
Yes, getting to see inside Malcolm Tucker’s front room! But it doesn’t end there…
Malcolm Tucker’s DVD collection! So, what’s there?
Well, from what we can recognise the spines of:
Taxi Driver
The Departed
Layer Cake
The Godfather Trilogy (?)
Lethal Weapon Box Set (?)
Brotherhood
Memento
R-Point
Titanic
The Italian Job
School Of Rock
Hot Fuzz
Shaun of the Dead
Meet The Parents
24
Citizen Kane
Outnumbered
South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut
The Shield
The Departed
Layer Cake
The Godfather Trilogy (?)
Lethal Weapon Box Set (?)
Brotherhood
Memento
R-Point
Titanic
The Italian Job
School Of Rock
Hot Fuzz
Shaun of the Dead
Meet The Parents
24
Citizen Kane
Outnumbered
South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut
The Shield
Now, clearly, the contents of the DVD shelf clearly weren’t actually on the physical shelves of the fictional character Malcolm Tucker, more that they happened to be in the residence the crew were filming in, but you’ve got to enjoy the thought of him getting in after a hard day’s bollockings, only to pour a glass of scotch and to plonk South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut on his DVD player.
Also, anything interesting happen in the rest of the programme? We stopped watching it after five minutes.

How about some 720p hi-def captures?

That looks like Ricky Gervais's "Politics" live DVD next-door-but-one to Citizen Kane. Um, not that I'd recognise it or anything.
Also, check out his bookcase:

I wonder what he thought of Chris Eubank's autobiography?
I think you're right, it is a copy of Politics. Oh, Malcolm. It would have been better if a copy of In The Loop had been there - better still, a DVD of The Armando Iannucci Shows.
Ah ha! I'll be useful here. I can identify a few from your pictures (and I will be doing it from yours, no cheating here!)
From the bottom I recognise
Day After Tomorrow
Master and Commander
Alien Autopsy (possibly) or War of the Worlds
Italian Job
Dodgeball
Hot Fuzz
Shaun of the Dead
Atonement (I think)
Meet the Parents
-
-
-
Citizen Kane
Micallef Programme Part Deux (I wish)
Politics (as suggested)
-
Looks familiar but not sure..
Aeon Flux
-
Avengers
-
-
South Park
-
Kind of looks a bit like Man on Fire but probably isn't.

Feel like I should now this but not sure.Actually it kind of looks like Don't be a Menace.. Ooh I really feel I should know that.
51st State

The Shield

Oh I can't be bothered any more.
Alien Autopsy? Looks like whoever's house they'd used for filming has the same addiction to buying films they already know they don't like much, but they're sooooooo cheap in the local supermarket. I own a copy of Domino on DVD, for fuck's sake. Why do I own a copy of Domino?
Conversely, if I saw a new copy of The Avengers film going for under two quid, I'd buy it just in case it isn't as terrible as I remember it being.
The big shock there is surely Titanic, judging by the size of the box on VHS. I think that's the only time we've ever seen Malcolm out of a suit, as well. In fact, maybe the first time we've seen any of the characters off duty?
Someone on Twitter claims top row far right is... The Thick Of It.
